Judgement. We all do it, but it is not good for us or the person we are making a judgement against. I am not a great participator in many types of social media. Lurk, here and there, seeing what people are up to. From the few places I go, there is so much judgement out there. I would say 99% of the time, we never know the whole story, yet we form an opinion, make a comment, point it out to others. Potentially, destroying the reputation of a person. I think the more experiences we have in life, the more we realize that not one of us is perfect, nor can we ever be. We become less judgemental because we have lived through situations, we never imagined we would be in. The Bible is pretty clear that if we judge, we will be judged, (Matthew 7:1). Understanding is not the way society teaches us to think. I think 1 Samuel 16:7 NLT, offers us the best perspective: People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at a person’s thoughts and intentions. Thank goodness! My thoughts and intentions are often good, yet somehow I get myself into places I do not want to be. The next time I am tempted to judge, I am going to remind myself that I am not only doing potential harm to the other person, but I will be judged because of it.
