I was reading this passage during my morning devotions. Usually, I read it and think that Esau was very foolish. He thought he would die of hunger. When I read it this time, I got to thinking. What temporary problem do we have that we are willing to give up something very significant for? It goes back to making decisions that are grounded in wisdom, not based on feelings and the emotions that the situation has brought on. I need to be mindful, especially when in an unexpected situation or a place of high emotion, that I make decisions based on God’s plan and purpose for my life.
