This quote hung in the office of my massage therapist, until she retired. It has really resonated with me for many years. So much of our culture says, “Do what you love,” Which some people have turned into, “Do only what you love.”. That would be impossible for me. I do think that we are more productive if we are doing things, in general, that we love. However, I do not love cleaning the bathroom. What I do love, is the way the bathroom looks and feels, once it is clean. There are many things we have to do in a day and many of those things I do not necessarily like to do. If I start to change the way I think about the things I have to do and try and find more ways of liking them, my life will be more blessed than it already is. So while I’m folding, what seems like the 100th load of laundry this week, I can turn on music I love or think of all the things that I am thankful for, (I have a washing machine to use, I now have clean clothes, etc.). Be thankful for the life you have, not everyone is as blessed.
