We all struggle with anxiety at some point. Different people react in different ways. I know when I am anxious, I crave physical exertion. A way to rid myself of the feelings that are bubbling up. I have seen the crippling effects of anxiety, mixed with depression. I recently had a friend tell me, “I can’t fall asleep, I can’t get up and I can’t get anything done.” They felt pretty much helpless. I love 1 Peter 5:7, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” Jesus is willing to take it all. We just need to give it to Him and trust that His ways are better than our ways. I know when I am feeling anxious, any way is better than the one I am going. For me, I can cast it, but then sometimes I go back and get it. If we are going to cast and give our anxiety to Jesus, then every time we are tempted to go back and take it, we need to stop and pray, thanking God for His promises.
