I have seen the power of gratitude at work and it is something I believe in deeply. When we are grateful for the simple things, our attitude changes. I am grateful for so much and yet, I need to make sure that I am expressing that gratitude towards others and my Heavenly Father. So often I take for granted the sunshine, wind, stars, and millions of things that are so beautiful around me. Instead of gratitude, greed, seems to be permeated in our society. The always wanting what others have or more of what we think we should have. Over the last few months, I have realized that I can be quite content living with less. Less things that consume my time, less things that I have to take care of and less things that consume my finances. I connected with a quote from my morning devotional, from Christine Caine, “Thank God for what you do have, and trust Him with what you don’t.” There are situations in my life that are not looking the way they should. Instead of being upset by the fact that they are not what I think they should be, I need to be thankful for what I do have and keep believing for the victory in those other areas. Her last point was, “Gratitude releases supernatural multiplication!” On this Thanksgiving Sunday and every day, I need to be grateful.
