When I started this Newsletter, my intention was to provide some Christian content for our children, while there was nothing offered on Sunday’s. Along the way I started to share my thoughts and experiences. I found the process very reflective and thought provoking. I was hoping to keep on doing it until the Children’s Ministries resumed, however, with school starting this week for kids and me returning to work full-time, I am going to scale back and put something out each Sunday, so that the kids can still have some Christian content. Thank you for joining me on this journey. I have received so many encouraging emails and phone calls, regarding my posts. Until next week.
“As I travel the world and see the plight of humanity, I note above all else the absence of hope. People are despondent, without a sense of purpose, future or destiny. Hopelessness permeates the media, politics, the arts, finances, and society at large.
I am so grateful that the Scripture teaches that no matter what is happening around us, it is what is happening in us that actually matters. We must never forget that Jesus is our hope and an anchor for our soul that is both firm and secure. We live according to a different set of principles than people who do not know Christ; therefore, no matter how bleak things seem, we always have an eternal hope. In the midst of uncertainty we can hold on to the certainty of Jesus.
We must become prisoners of hope because we know the One who is the source of hope. If our ultimate hope were in people, things, or what this world can offer, we too would be hopeless But our hope is in Christ alone, and all we need is in Him. Instead of looking around at the hopeless state of the world, why not choose to look up today into the hopeful eyes of our eternal, ever-loving gracious Saviour?”
